Saturday October 18th Pilot Meeting

0900 Meeting called to order

Attending:

Bill Worth, Vick Poulis, Dave Daniels, Mike Robinson, Frank Huggins, Tom Navar, Erick Jackson.

1. Fuel is at 2300 gallons and will need to be refilled in November

2. Discussion of the maintenance situation with requests for taking better care of the runways and taxiways. Extending the edge with gravel after chemical to kill the weeds, and then following up to get rid of the remaining dead extensions

3. Need for Coventional geared planes to use the main runway when taxiing so that they can see ahead as the go back and forth. Using the runway lighting, radio, to inform other pilots of their needs to bypass the narrow taxiways

4. Inspection report by Mike Robinson along with a request by Dave Daniels to update the hose reel and the grounding cables when we have the contractor in to meet the requirements of the inspection

5. A discussion of the visitors with requirements not to have touch and goes and to forgo using the smoke systems on the runway as there have been complaints. Guests are the responsibility of their hosts when using Cielo Dorado and this will be explained at the next meetings of the two EAA groups that have been invited.

6. An enlightening discussion of the benefits and trials of Conventional gear aircraft vs nose wheel aircraft ensued, with the majority of the meeting being tail dragger pilots
